Hazel at Home

How we get paid

You should know exactly who pays a service like this, and what they get for it. Here it is, plainly.

Families pay $0

You never pay Hazel. Not to use the quiz, not for the match, not ever.

Providers pay a fee

When a family goes ahead with the provider we matched them with, that provider pays Hazel a referral fee.

No pay-to-rank

We aren't paid more for recommending one provider over another. We match on who can cover your hours in your parent's area.

Why this model

Most sites in this category make money by selling your details to as many companies as will pay for them. That's why the last form you filled in led to six phone calls. We only get paid if the one provider we matched you with turns out to be right for your family, so it's in our interest to get the match right the first time, not to spread you around.

Exactly what we share, and with whom

When you request a match, we share the following with one provider only, the one we match you with:

  • Your name, phone number and email address
  • Your parent's ZIP code
  • The kind of help you're looking for, the hours, and when you'd like to start
  • The time you said you'd like to be called

We do not:

  • Sell your information to anyone
  • Share it with other providers, lead buyers or data brokers
  • Put you on a call list

We use service providers (like hosting and email tools) to run Hazel, and they handle data only on our behalf. If we can't help in your parent's area, your details go to no one. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

What you're not committing to

Requesting a match doesn't commit you to anything. You can talk to the provider, ask your questions, and decide not to go ahead. If you don't, nobody pays anything, including you.
