Hazel at Home

We built Hazel for the person reading this at 11pm.

Usually a daughter. Usually working. Usually the one who noticed first that things at her mom's house had started to slip.

Why Hazel exists

It usually starts small. The fridge is emptier than it should be. A bill didn't get paid. Your mom says she's fine, and mostly she is, but you're driving over three evenings a week, taking calls at work, and lying awake wondering what happens if she falls when nobody's there.

So one night, after she's asleep, you start looking. And every site you find is written to her, not to you. None of them tell you what anything costs. And the moment you fill in a form, six companies call you before breakfast.

Hazel is the service we wished existed in that moment. A few questions. A real number. One provider who can actually cover the hours. One call, at a time you pick.

What we believe

  • Getting a few hours of help isn't giving up. You're still the one who notices, decides and shows up.
  • You should know what it costs before anyone calls you.
  • Your phone number isn't a product.
  • If we can't help, we should say so straight away.

What Hazel is, and isn't

Hazel is a free matching service. We don't employ caregivers and we don't deliver care. We match families with one independent, licensed local home care provider, and that provider handles the care, the staff and the billing directly with you.
